Powerful zoom
The single most important part of any camera is the lens. With a powerful 3.4x zoom lens (38-130mm), you can capture everything from a sweeping landscape to a child’s smile. With over 60 years of Canon optical heritage built in, you can be assured of rich, high-clarity, high-contrast results, which is why the SureShot 130U II Date gives you such an advantage.

Compact and lightweight
Masters of miniaturisation, Canon’s engineers and designers have managed to compress a host of precision optics and clever technologies into a compact, lightweight body: convenient enough to carry everywhere.

Options - when you want
Get the most out of every shooting situation with the SureShot 130U II Date’s six clever PIC (Programmed Image Control) modes. Optimise results by matching your camera settings to the scene with ‘Close Up’, ‘Portrait’, ‘Night Portrait’ and ‘Action’ modes. ‘RT’ (Real-time release) mode gives you instant response shutter control to help you capture exactly the right moment. And of course there is always the convenient ‘AUTO’ mode, for great results when you just want to turn on and start shooting.

The camera that works hard while you relax
Expect perfect, crisp exposures every time with zoom-linked auto focus and precise, automatic exposure metering. To ensure balanced, even lighting, exposure compensation and flash are automatically applied when backlit conditions are detected, such as when shooting into the sun. The compact powerful zoom flash has a moving head, automatically following the setting of your zoom lens.

Convenience comes standard
Prescription glass wearers will appreciate the dioptric adjustment possibility. To help you keep track of when you took your shots, the camera can imprint the time and date on each picture. Motorised film advance and rewind is fully automatic, and mid-roll rewind is available. An audible beep sounds for various situations, such as during self-timer countdown, to warn of camera shake and situations where the subject is too close.
